My recent visit to The Woodhouse Day Spa Avalon started with me thinking about how there just aren’t enough hours in the day. I think we’ve all said those exact words and felt as though we were on an endless squeaky hamster wheel. In the name of sanity, self-preservation, and all things good in the world, you just have to step off the wheel every now and then. My shoulders were creeping closer and closer to my ears. The stresses of everyday busy family/work life were taking a toll and I knew another at-home hot bath wasn’t going to get rid of the muscle tension and stress I was feeling. This is when I listened to my body, remembered that I promised myself to make self-care a priority, and also where one of my favorite spas comes in to play, The Woodhouse Day Spa.
The Perfect Location
The spa is located in an area of Alpharetta which encompasses shopping, fantastic dining, luxury living, a top-notch movie theater, beautiful hotel with a roof-top pool and conference space, and all-around gorgeous surroundings called Avalon. I’d be fibbing if I didn’t declare it is absolutely one of my favorite places to be on evenings with my husband and kids or to enjoy weekends.
I frequented The Woodhouse Day Spa in New Orleans before moving to Alpharetta so I had previous great experiences to compare The Woodhouse Day Spa Avalon the two. I walked in with the bar set high for my first visit. Upon arrival, I was graciously greeted and taken to change into a luxurious robe before heading to the relaxation area before my relaxing back, neck, and shoulder massage started.
My Spa Experience
The massage started in a warmly lit room with soothing sounds and slightly scented with lavender. My massage therapist listened intently to me prior to starting. He addressed all of my problem areas and worked out some really tough knots. Using a gentle voice and the perfect pressure, I could feel the tension leaving me with every knead. The soft chiming sounds and aromas of sandalwood, citrus, and ylang ylang were additional touches making my experience so much more relaxing. I couldn’t help but wonder why it took me so long to book this appointment, nevertheless, I was there and it was exactly what I needed.
Once my massage came to an end, I spent a few moments sipping on refreshing lemon-infused ice water while nestled into a chaise. The warm, quiet space was so relaxing it was hard to part with, but I promised myself I would be back soon.
I spent a few minutes looking at the beautiful retail area featuring some of my favorite brands like Farm Fresh and Voluspa. My massage therapist suggested I try the yb (life) Yoga Balm and I couldn’t leave without it.
My experience at The Woodhouse Day Spa Avalon was everything I needed and I left feeling incredible pampered, relaxed, recharged, and ready for my next visit! If you are a local in the Alpharetta area and haven’t visited or planning a business or work trip, it’s a must. If you are planning a girls weekend, girls day, or just want to spend some quality time taking care of yourself, pay them a visit and you won’t regret it.
Below is me after my massage with a face full of makeup, Lego toys on the floor, laundry to do, and feeling oh-so-relaxed 🙂
This is NOT a sponsored post…I just really love massages…and The Woodhouse.
